Our Favourite Autumn Weddings

When the leaves begin to change to deep oranges and browns, and there is more of a chill in the air; there is something so magical about the autumnal atmosphere here at Wasing after a long hot summer. There is promise of a cosy winter ahead, but there is still a lingering warmth that means the weather should hopefully still be in your favour.

Being surrounded by beautiful parkland, autumn certainly is the most colourful season of the year and it is lovely to see our autumn weddings making the most of the natural beauty that surrounds them.

Bring the outside in. Draw ideas from nature and use crisp brown leaves as part of  your aisle or table displays.

Remember the time of year. Is there a way you can incorporate pumpkins or gourds if it’s near to Halloween?

Keep it cosy. In the chillier, darker months, it’s always an idea to create a cosy, warm atmosphere in the Castle Barn. Candles are a quick win!

Autumn doesn’t have to mean oranges, and browns. This gorgeous Autumn wedding uses muted dusky pink tones and features within their beautiful wild rustic bouquets and centerpieces by The White Horse Flower Company.

Colour palette. One thing we start to notice as the cooler months draw in is the change in colour palette for the wedding party. This wedding kept it simple and classic with navy dresses and dark maroon for the boys trousers.

Keeping the hunger at bay. Lots of winter weddings opt for hearty options for their wedding breakfast, such as a scotch egg starter and fillet of beef for mains. Two of Galloping Gourmet’s most popular dishes!

Continuing the theme. From invite to décor, there is not one part of your wedding planning that can’t reflect the time of year, if you so wish. We love this autumnal confetti and wooden sign!

Embrace the season. Orange roses in your bouquet and a matching orange buttonhole, for example. It really makes the photographs pop.

An alternative choice for reception drinks. Consider offering a hot drink as part of your reception drinks.

Consider your photographs. Using an authorised supplier for photography will help you here as they know the venue, but using the natural colour of the leaves and trees make wonderful photos and there will never be any doubt as to the time of year you married.
