A Bohemian Summer Wedding

Planning a September wedding, Keeley and Brent were looking for a venue that had it all – somewhere with plenty of space where they could marry, dine, celebrate and ideally spend the night. They fell in love with the location and the beautiful spaces at Wasing Park.

“With our background in festivals, we wanted somewhere with a bohemian feel that was also luxurious and exclusive. Wasing Park offered just that and also had some boutique guest rooms. The estate was simply magical and the option to marry outdoors really sealed the deal.”  – Keeley

Design and Décor

Planning a contemporary boho-chic style, the happy couple chose a delicate colour palette of green, ivory and blush pink with a hint of copper to compliment the natural beauty of the venue.

Embracing organic, natural materials and textures, birch trees were used to line the aisle for the outdoor ceremony in the Victorian Summerhouse while roses, herbs and eucalyptus adorned the chairs beside the aisle.

“I really wanted to have an entrance to walk through with my dad, so we created a natural arch from birch tree trunks, dressed in beautiful flowers and greenery. My mum was a superstar and helped to create some beautiful decorative pieces.” – Keeley

Rustic wooden signs, a pallet timeline and wooden table plan all added to the look. Inside the Castle Barn, the top table was framed with a large arch dressed with birch trees, foliage and fairy lights while dimmable Edison bulbs in copper cages hung from the overhead beams. Meanwhile, thoughtful, personalised details included photo displays and individual place settings.

When it came to flowers, as well as featuring so beautifully in the décor, Keeley carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses, freesia, bouvardia, nigella, rosemary and eucalyptus.

Bridal Style

Keeley was stunning in ‘Rosa’ by Suzanne Neville from Miss Bush.

“It was a completely different style to all the other dresses I had looked at, but the material was gorgeous and the structured top with the full skirt really suited my body shape. It was magical and made me feel so elegant.” – Keeley

The beautiful bride completed the look with a delicate hair comb, a long veil and ‘Lexi’ court shoes from Rainbow Club. She also adhered to the ‘Something Old’ tradition, with old, new, borrowed and blue accessories.

Brent looked the part in a soft lapis blue tweed checked suit by Marc Darcy which he wore with an oak tweed herringbone waistcoat, tie and brown brogues.

“He also wore an Omega dress watch that had belonged to his great grandfather and a pair of engraved cufflinks that I gave to him as a gift on the morning of the wedding.” – Keeley

Finally, Keeley’s bridesmaids chose style 2908 from the Dessy Collection, opting for either ‘Desert Rose’ or ‘Toasted Sugar’ shades of pink.

Order of the Day at Wasing Park

Following their wonderfully romantic ceremony in the Victorian Summerhouse, Keeley and Brent enjoyed welcome drinks and canapés on the lawn with their guests.

“We also had an oyster station which was delicious!” – Keeley

Moving on to the Castle Barn, seared scallops were served to start, followed by fillet of beef Wellington, a delicious trio of desserts and three local cheeses with chutney and biscuits.

Working in the events industry, entertainment was of great importance to the newlyweds. They ran their evening reception like a festival line up with talented friends each having a one hour slot in which to perform.

“We booked an amazing band called Mariachi El Pinche Gringo – super fun with a great energy. They were fantastic!” – Keeley

Wood-fired pizza with a choice of toppings proved a popular choice for evening dining.

Memorable Moments

“My favorite moment was hearing Brent’s vows to me. They were so personal and heartfelt while also making me laugh. I felt so lucky to be marrying this wonderful man and it was even more special to be surrounded by all our family and friends.”
